Abstract:This paper fitted the drop size distribution(DSD) with a Gamma distribution using the observed data from the OTT Parsivel laser disdrometer at the Liuhe District observation station in Nanjing from 3:50:00 (BT) on April 2,2015 to 1:50:00 (BT) on December 24,2015,and the relationship between the parameters of the raindrop spectrum in Nanjing was analyzed.And then a case of convective cloud precipitation at 06:21:55 (UT) on June 25, 2015 and a case of stratiform cloud precipitation at 02:25:27 (UT) on June 27,2015 detected by C-band dual-polarization radar of Nanjing University of Information Science amp; Technology (NUIST-CDP) were selected, parametric method was used to retrieve the raindrop spectrum parameters of Gamma distribution by using radar parameters ZHH and ZDR,the raindrop spectrum parameters retrieved and its application were analyzed,finally the retrieved raindrop spectrum and the measured raindrop spectrum were compared.The results show that there is only μ-Λ with a high degree of correlation in the parameters of the raindrop spectrum in Nanjing.The parameters of raindrop spectrum obtained by retrieval are also reasonable,and the precipitation parameters calculated by them can be used to characterize precipitation.The comparison between retrieved raindrop spectrum and measured raindrop spectrum shows that the retrieved raindrop spectrum of the stratiform cloud precipitation is good and better than the retrieved raindrop spectrum of the convective cloud precipitation.However,there is still a lack of low retrieved values of concentration parameter N0.
